I moved recently. Do I need to re-register?โ€บ
Yes โ€” if you moved to a new county you must re-register. If you moved within the same county, update your address with your county Supervisor of Elections before the deadline. Voting with an old address could result in your ballot not counting for local races.
Can I register to vote on Election Day?โ€บ
No. Florida requires voter registration to be completed at least 29 days before an election. The deadline for the August 18 primary is July 20, 2026. If you miss the deadline you cannot vote in that election.
I have a felony conviction. Can I vote?โ€บ
It depends. Florida Amendment 4 (2018) restored voting rights for most people with felony convictions who have completed their sentence, including probation and parole โ€” except for murder and felony sexual offenses. Check your eligibility at dos.myflorida.com or call your county Supervisor of Elections.
How do I find my polling location?โ€บ
Your polling location is assigned based on your registered address. Check your county Supervisor of Elections website or use the Florida Division of Elections voter lookup tool at registration.elections.myflorida.com. Your polling place may change between elections.
What's the difference between a primary and a general election?โ€บ
A primary election is where each political party selects its candidate to advance to the general election. In Florida, registered Democrats vote in Democratic primaries and registered Republicans vote in Republican primaries. Nonpartisan races (like city council in Miami Gardens) are open to all registered voters. The general election in November is where the winners of the primaries compete.
Know Before You Vote
Once you're registered, come back and research every official on your ballot. Their promises. Their record. Their score. All documented.
