The Chief Financial Officer of Florida oversees the state's finances, audits government agencies, regulates the insurance and financial industries, and serves as State Fire Marshal. The CFO is a member of the Florida Cabinet and is third in the line of succession to the Governor. The office heads the Florida Department of Financial Services, which manages accounting, revenue collection, state bill payment, cemetery and funeral regulation, and banking and insurance oversight.
