Wilton Simpson

Wilton Simpson is a fifth-generation Floridian and lifelong egg farmer from Trilby, Florida. He served in the Florida Senate from 2012 to 2022, including as Senate President from 2020 to 2022. He was elected Florida Agriculture Commissioner in November 2022, defeating Democrat Naomi Blemur with 59% of the vote. He took office on January 3, 2023. In 2025 he became publicly embroiled in a feud with Governor DeSantis over immigration enforcement policy. He has Trump's endorsement for re-election in 2026.

The Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services oversees the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which is responsible for protecting the environment, ensuring the safety and affordability of Florida's food supply, protecting consumers, supporting Florida farmers and agricultural businesses, and regulating a wide range of industries including food safety, animal welfare, aquaculture, and forestry. The Commissioner is an elected member of the Florida Cabinet.
