Carson “Eddy” Edwards

Carson "Eddy" Edwards serves as the Vice Mayor of the City of Miramar, Florida, holding the nonpartisan Seat 4 on the City Commission. He was first elected to the commission on March 11, 2025, and was subsequently appointed by his peers to serve his current term as Vice Mayor in April 2026. Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, where he attended Ardenne High School, Edwards has been a vital part of Miramar’s civic and economic landscape for over 30 years as a dynamic entrepreneur. He is the founding partner of Riddims Marketing and CEO of Jamaican Jerk Festival USA, Inc. Prior to entering elected office, he built a record of public service as a member of the city’s Planning & Zoning Board. On the commission, his work centers on economic growth, cultural vibrancy, and community development initiatives, including youth educational partnerships and local community resource donations.

The Vice Mayor of the City of Miramar is a municipal executive and legislative office within city government, typically rotating among members of the City Commission. The Vice Mayor presides over commission meetings in the absence of the Mayor and participates in setting city policy, approving the municipal budget, and representing the interests of Miramar residents.
