Maxwell B. Chambers

Maxwell B. Chambers is a Commissioner for the City of Miramar, Florida, serving Seat 1, a nonpartisan elected office he first attained in 2015 and most recently re-elected in March 2025. Prior to his current term, he served as Vice Mayor of Miramar in 2016–2017 following his initial election, building a record of civic engagement in Broward County. He attended American Senior High School, and his educational background reflects roots in the South Florida community he represents. An immigrant from Jamaica who arrived in the U.S. at age 18, Chambers owned and operated a custom cabinetry business for 17 years before entering public service. Chambers has demonstrated a commitment to youth development through his volunteer work with KAPOW (Kids and the Power of Work) and his service on the Board of the Police Athletic League. His re-elections in 2017, 2021, and 2025 reflect sustained community support across more than a decade of public service at the municipal level.

The City of Miramar Commissioner is a member of the City Commission, the legislative and governing body of the City of Miramar, a municipal government in Broward County, Florida. Commissioners are responsible for setting city policy, adopting the municipal budget, enacting local ordinances, and providing oversight of city operations and services.
