Felicia M. Brunson

Felicia M. Brunson serves as Mayor of the City of West Park, Florida, a nonpartisan elected office she has held as a dedicated resident and community leader and founding architect of the municipality since its 2005 incorporation. Prior to her mayoral role, Brunson built a career in education and community service, establishing herself as an advocate for youth and civic engagement in Broward County. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a specialization in Journalism from Florida A&M University, a Master of Science in English Education from Nova Southeastern University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Management of Educational Programs, also from Nova Southeastern University. Brunson has earned recognition at the state level, including the 2026 Home Rule Hero Award from the Florida League of Cities for her advocacy efforts during the 2026 legislative session. She has served in numerous leadership capacities, including as Broward League of Cities 1st Vice President, Broward Community and Family Health Center Board Chair, Executive Board member of the Florida League of Cities, and member of the Florida League of Mayors Board of Directors, among others. Brunson has expressed a commitment to leaving a lasting legacy for youth in her community while continuing to champion local governance and municipal interests at the state level.

The Mayor of the City of West Park is the chief elected executive of this municipal government in Broward County, Florida. The Mayor presides over the City Commission, represents the city in intergovernmental affairs, and works collaboratively with commissioners to set policy, approve budgets, and guide the overall direction of city services and development.
