Dr. Katrina V. Touchstone

Dr. Katrina V. Touchstone serves as Commissioner for Seat 1 on the City of West Park City Commission, a nonpartisan municipal office to which she was elected in November 2022. Born and raised in the Carver Ranches subdivision, she brings deep generational community ties dating back to 1951 through her family's local roots. A graduate of Nova High School, she earned a Doctorate in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences from Florida A&M University in 2005 and has practiced as a clinical pharmacist for over 15 years. As commissioner, Touchstone operates on a "community-first" platform focused on transparency and accountability. Her documented legislative accomplishments include successfully driving a reduction in the city’s millage rate to 7.9, eliminating red-light cameras, expanding budgets for senior programming, and prioritizing neighborhood street-calming initiatives. To enhance civic engagement, she co-created the local social media group "West Park Word of Mouth" and hosts regular neighborhood town halls. Her tenure has also been marked by fierce advocacy for governance reform; she famously entered a high-profile legal battle, suing the mayor and city administration to challenge meeting disruptions and uphold municipal checks and balances.

The City of West Park Commissioner is a member of the municipal City Commission, the legislative and governing body of this Broward County city. Commissioners are responsible for setting city policy, adopting the municipal budget, enacting local ordinances, and overseeing the delivery of city services to residents.
