Charles Bare

Charles L. Bare is the City Council Member for District 2 in Pensacola, Florida, serving in a nonpartisan capacity and having previously been elected to the Pensacola City Council as an at-large member in 2012. Before his council service, he worked as a program reviewer and criminal investigator/special agent with federal training credentials, then as Assistant Director of Governmental Relations upon returning to Pensacola in 1997, and later as a district representative for Congressman Jeff Miller before founding The Charles Bare Company, a management and technology consulting firm, in 2007. A veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, Bare served as a military police officer and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, leveraging his tactical and investigative training in active combat zones. He attended the University of West Florida, earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in coastal zone studies in 1994. During his tenure on the council, he served on the West Florida Regional Planning Council, chaired the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization, and served as President of the City Council in 2016. He is a graduate of Leadership Pensacola, Leadership Santa Rosa, and the West Florida Leadership Academy. Bare pre-filed as a candidate for Pensacola City Council District 2 in the 2026 election cycle.
