Jennifer Brahier

Jennifer Brahier serves as the City Council Member for District 1 on the Pensacola City Council in Pensacola, Florida, running as a nonpartisan candidate; she was first elected in 2020 in an exceptionally close race decided by just three votes following an automatic recount, and was subsequently reelected in 2024. Prior to her election to public office, Brahier built a career in higher education as a Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at Pensacola State College, while also serving as chief negotiator for the Faculty Association of Pensacola State College and as a senator in the United Faculty of Florida. She holds degrees in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from the University of West Florida. Brahier completed the National Education Association's Emerging Leader Academy and worked with the NEA in Washington D.C., Long Beach, California, and St. Louis, Missouri on initiatives to lower student debt. A resident of the Scenic Heights neighborhood since 1974, she was born into a military family with both parents having served, and brings longstanding community ties to her role as a public servant.
