Daniela Jean

Daniela Jean is a Commissioner representing Group 3 on the North Miami Beach City Commission, a nonpartisan seat she won in a runoff election after defeating Margaret 'Margie' Love for the seat vacated by Phyllis Smith due to term limits. Prior to her elected role, Jean served as president and CEO of Arts at Work, Inc., a nonprofit promoting literary, visual, and performing arts for youth, and has worked as an Assistant Professor at Florida Memorial University. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Barry University, an Associate's degree from Miami Dade College, and a Master's degree in Global Strategic Communications from Florida International University. Jean sponsored the City's first education compact and has pushed for expanded resources for local business owners, partnering with community organizations to improve public awareness of available support. She serves as a liaison on the City's Community Redevelopment Agency board and as a councilor on the Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Council, championing accessibility to arts and culture. Her current priorities include youth empowerment, equitable community development, and bridging art and education in North Miami Beach.
