Digna Cabral

Digna Cabral is a dedicated public servant and clinical research professional serving as a City Councilwoman (Seat 4) and the Vice Mayor for the City of Doral, Florida. First elected to the nonpartisan council in 2018 and re-elected by a landslide in November 2022, Councilwoman Cabral brings an evidence-based approach to municipal governance. Professionally, she possesses over a decade of experience as a Senior Research Analyst for the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami, following prior research contributions at Columbia University. Leveraging her background in public health sciences, her lobbying efforts for the Florida Stroke Registry in March 2019 secured a historic state-issued financial allocation to improve hospital patient care. Her extensive local leadership includes serving as former Chair of the Doral Community Development District, former CEO of CAMACOL Doral—a position from which she was completely cleared of municipal ethics allegations in July 2025—and a former board member and chair for the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM). On a national scale, she represents Doral on several National League of Cities committees and holds an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School. Vice Mayor Cabral is a member of the Miami-Dade Republican Executive Committee and will complete her maximum consecutive term limits on the council in November 2026.

The Vice Mayor of the City of Doral is a member of the elected City Council, serving within the municipal government of Doral, Florida, a charter city operating under a Mayor/City Council/City Manager form of government. The Vice Mayor shares legislative and policy-making responsibilities with the full council, presides over meetings in the Mayor's absence, and participates in setting city priorities, approving budgets, and representing constituent interests.
