Scott J. Brook is the Mayor of the City of Coral Springs, Florida, a nonpartisan elected office he has held since first being elected and is currently serving his fourth term, having been sworn in following his uncontested re-election in 2024. Prior to and concurrent with his mayoral service, Brook has built a distinguished career as a family law attorney, having been a former partner at Brodzki Jacobs & Brook and later founding his own firm, Scott J. Brook, P.A., with offices in Coral Springs and Boca Raton. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in 1985, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Spanish, earned an MBA also from Tulane, and went on to graduate from the University of Miami School of Law in 1992. As a member of the Florida Bar, Brook has practiced before the Florida Supreme Court, the First District Court of Appeal, and numerous other courts throughout the state. Over the course of approximately 14 years in the mayoral role, Brook has been recognized for his leadership in municipal governance, emphasizing integrity, experience, and innovation in city management. His current priorities include continuing to advance quality-of-life initiatives and responsible city leadership for the residents of Coral Springs.
The Mayor of Coral Springs is the chief elected executive officer of a municipal government in Broward County, Florida, serving as the presiding officer of the City Commission. The Mayor's primary responsibilities include setting the agenda for Commission meetings, representing the city in intergovernmental and public affairs, and working collaboratively with the Commission to establish city policy, approve budgets, and oversee the delivery of municipal services.
