Anthony N. Caggiano

Anthony N. Caggiano is the Vice Mayor of the City of Margate, Florida, holding Seat #1 on the City Commission, a nonpartisan office to which he was elected and in which he was designated Vice Mayor by his fellow commissioners in November 2023, with the role officially sworn in at the December 10, 2023 City Commission meeting. Prior to his current designation, Caggiano served as a board member of the City's Planning and Zoning Board beginning in 2013, was elected Vice Chair of that board in 2015, and served as a board member of the Margate Chamber of Commerce from 2009 to 2014, including as 2013 Executive Secretary. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Binghamton. In 2022, he was appointed Mayor for a one-year term by his fellow commissioners, and he has the distinction of graduating from the first class of Margate Community College, the City's civic engagement program for residents. Caggiano has also been recognized alongside fellow Commissioner Joanne Simone for advocacy efforts at the Florida State Legislature on behalf of the City of Margate.

The Vice Mayor of Margate is a member of the five-seat City Commission, the governing body of this Broward County municipality, and assumes the duties of the Mayor in the Mayor's absence. The City Commission holds legislative and executive authority over municipal policy, the City budget, land use, and the appointment of key city officials.
