Anthony Rodriguez is the Miami-Dade County Commissioner for District 10 and current Chairman of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, unanimously elected to that role in November 2024. He was first elected to the Commission on August 23, 2022, winning with 56% of the vote. A first-generation Cuban American born and raised in Miami, he is the son of Cuban exiles — his father was one of more than 14,000 children who fled Cuba during Operation Peter Pan following the Communist revolution. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2018 to 2022. During his legislative tenure he secured state funding for several Miami-Dade nonprofits including the WOW Center for individuals with disabilities and Casa Familia for adults with intellectual disabilities. He also sponsored state funding for Zoo Miami and the Miami-Dade CountryFest. He has served on the Jackson Health System Board and the Miami-Dade Unsafe Structures Board.
