Secure Funding for Organizations Serving Individuals with Disabilities
Healthcare
✓ Kept
"I will continue to advocate for and secure state and county funding for organizations like the WOW Center and Casa Familia that serve individuals with disabilities and developmental challenges."
Gov. Record miamidade.gov · District 10 About Page · 2022 (NOTE: This is a biographical accomplishment claim, not a traditional forward-looking campaign promise.)
Documented record of securing state funding for WOW Center — a special education school for individuals with disabilities — and Casa Familia — providing affordable housing for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities — during his time in the Florida House. Continued sponsoring state funding for Miami-Dade CountryFest and Zoo Miami as county commissioner. Pattern of consistent advocacy for disability services and community organizations documented across both roles.

Make County Government More Efficient and Accountable
Government Reform
◐ Partial
"I will fight to bring our tax dollars to our community — improving quality of life for all residents."

Created the Government Efficiency Ad Hoc Committee and sponsored STRIP — the Special Task Force to Reduce Inefficiencies in Procurement — targeting over 200 pieces of outdated legislation and 100+ steps per procurement request. STRIP final report expected Q1 2026, meaning outcomes are not yet finalized. Also played a key role in facilitating Miami-Dade's transition to constitutional officers — described as one of the most complex governmental transitions in county history. Significant action taken but final results still pending.

Protect Parental Rights and Improve Education Quality in District 10
Education
⊘ Blocked
"I will work hard to make sure that every parent has a say in their child's education and that they are provided with real choices."
Campaign voteanthonyrodriguez.com · 2022 Campaign Website
No documented county-level legislation specifically advancing parental rights in education sponsored by Rodriguez during his commission tenure. Education policy in Florida is primarily governed by school boards and the state legislature — county commissioners have very limited direct authority over curriculum, parental rights in education, or school choice. Rodriguez previously supported parental rights legislation during his time in the Florida House, but no comparable county-level initiative has been identified. Status reflects jurisdictional limitations rather than opposition to the stated goal.

Improve Public Safety in District 10
Public Safety
✗ Broken
"He vowed to improve public safety in District 10."
News Source Florida Politics · floridapolitics.com · August 2022 (NOTE: This is a third-party paraphrase, not a direct quote.)
No documented specific public safety legislation, program, or District 10-targeted initiative launched by Rodriguez during his commission tenure based on available public records. His documented legislative focus has centered on government efficiency, procurement reform, and transportation. No public safety program, crime reduction initiative, or dedicated law enforcement investment specifically attributed to Rodriguez was found in commission records, press coverage, or his official communications. Note: This assessment is based on publicly available records; budget votes or committee-level support for broader county public safety measures may not be fully captured.

Eliminate Tax and Regulatory Strains on District 10 Businesses
Economy & Taxes
◐ Partial
"As a business owner I know the tough choices many of us have to make daily — as your County Commissioner I will work hard to make sure burdensome taxes and excessive regulations no longer add unnecessary stress to our businesses."
Campaign voteanthonyrodriguez.com · 2022 Campaign Website
Created the Government Efficiency Ad Hoc Committee and sponsored the Special Task Force to Reduce Inefficiencies in Procurement (STRIP) — targeting 200+ pieces of procurement legislation and 100+ individual steps per request. STRIP final report expected Q1 2026 to streamline county procurement and reduce regulatory burden on businesses and taxpayers. These efforts directly address the 'excessive regulations' component of the promise. However, no specific tax reduction or tax relief legislation for District 10 businesses has been documented, leaving the 'burdensome taxes' component unaddressed.

Reduce or Eliminate Tolls in District 10
Infrastructure
○ Pending
"I will work hard to bring more transportation dollars to our district to expand as well as extend current expressways, and to significantly reduce or eliminate tolls."
Campaign voteanthonyrodriguez.com · 2022 Campaign Website
No documented toll reduction or elimination achieved in District 10 during his tenure. Rodriguez was selected Chairman of the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) in November 2024 — a leadership position that provides significant influence over regional transportation planning and funding priorities. However, no specific toll reduction legislation, expressway expansion project, or dedicated new transportation funding for District 10 has been passed or announced as of mid-2025. The TPO chairmanship represents a structural step toward the promise but has not yet produced concrete deliverables.
