Joshua Wostal

Joshua Wostal is an American entrepreneur, United States Navy veteran, and Republican politician currently serving as the Hillsborough County Commissioner for countywide District 7. He won election to this at-large seat in November 2022 by defeating Democratic incumbent Kimberly Overman, and his current four-year term runs through November 16, 2026. Wostal spent a decade on active duty in the U.S. Navy as a leadership and logistics specialist before earning a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Florida. Outside of public office, he is a small business owner who operates a UPS Store shipping and printing franchise located near Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. On the commission, Wostal has established himself as a fierce fiscal conservative, pushing to cut local taxes, reduce county debt, and aggressively auditing local government spending. Recognized by local media outlets like Florida Politics as an influential voice in regional politics, he represents the county on several major boards, including the Tampa Sports Authority, the Aviation Authority, and the Environmental Protection Commission.

The Hillsborough County Commissioner is a member of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, a legislative and executive body of county government in Florida. The Board is responsible for setting county policy, adopting the annual budget, enacting ordinances, and overseeing the delivery of county services to residents of Hillsborough County.
