Christine Miller is an American business executive and conservative Republican politician currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, representing District 4. Her path to the commission began in July 2024, when Governor Ron DeSantis appointed her to fill the vacancy left by Michael Owen. She successfully retained the seat by winning a full four-year term in the November 2024 general election, meaning her current term runs through November 2028. A resident of Plant City, Miller holds a Bachelor of Science in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts, a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University, and a Post Crisis Leadership Certificate from the University of South Florida. Before entering public office, she built a prominent career in civic leadership and economic development in East Hillsborough, serving as the Executive Director of the United Food Bank and Services of Plant City, and later as the President and CEO of the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce. Since joining the board, Miller has focused heavily on infrastructure and business diversification. Notably, she spearheaded a new local stormwater prevention task force to combat flooding in Seffner and Lake Thonotosassa, and she established Hillsborough Countyโs first-ever citizen-led "DOGE" (Department of Government Efficiency) committee to target waste in local government. Alongside her county duties, Miller represents the community on influential regional bodies, including the Hillsborough Transit Authority (HART) and the Port of Tampa Bay Board of Commissioners.
The Hillsborough County Commissioner is an elected member of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, the legislative and governing body of county government in Florida. Commissioners are responsible for setting county policy, approving the annual budget, enacting ordinances, and overseeing the delivery of county services to residents within their respective districts.
