Damian Pardo

Damian Pardo is a lifelong Miami resident raised in Coconut Grove and a longtime resident of Morningside for over 24 years. He is a prominent community activist with more than 35 years of civic engagement in South Florida. He founded SAVE (Safeguarding American Values for Everyone) in 1993, one of Florida's leading LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations, and served as a two-term president of CareResource (formerly Health Crisis Network), the largest AIDS health organization in the region. In 2015, he co-founded 4Ward Miami, a civic organization dedicated to uniting South Florida's diverse communities, and was a producer of the Gay8 Festival. He was elected to the Miami City Commission representing District 2 in November 2023, defeating incumbent Ken Russell in a competitive race.

The Miami City Commissioner for District 2 serves as one of five members of the City of Miami Commission, the legislative body of the city. The commission approves budgets, enacts ordinances and resolutions, sets policy direction, and provides oversight of city operations and the city manager. District 2 encompasses neighborhoods including Coconut Grove, Brickell, Edgewater, Wynwood, Morningside, and parts of Downtown Miami.
