George K. Wysong III earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University in 1988 and a Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1993. He began his career with the City of Miami as an Assistant City Attorney in November 1994 and has spent nearly three decades serving the city in various legal capacities. He served concurrently as the Police Legal Advisor for the Miami Police Department beginning in 1999, working with nine different Chiefs of Police and serving as the Chief Negotiator in two U.S. Department of Justice pattern and practice investigations, both of which he successfully concluded. He rose through the ranks to Deputy City Attorney overseeing the Land Development and General Government, and Real Estate and Transactions Divisions before being appointed City Attorney in April 2024.
