William Marrero

William Marrero was born and raised in Hialeah, Florida, the son of Cuban and Nicaraguan immigrants. He graduated from Hialeah Senior High School and pursued studies in Public Administration at Florida International University. Before taking office, Marrero was actively involved in community and civic engagement within Hialeah. He was elected to the Hialeah City Council in November 2023, running on a platform focused on supporting working families, public safety, and transparent government. He is one of the younger members to serve on the council, reflecting a generational shift in Hialeah's local politics.

A Hialeah City Council Member serves as part of the city's legislative body, responsible for passing ordinances, approving the municipal budget, setting tax rates, and overseeing city services for one of the largest cities in Miami-Dade County. Council members represent the interests of residents on matters including zoning, public safety, infrastructure, and parks, and exercise oversight over city administration.
