Anabelle Lima-Taub

Anabelle Lima-Taub serves as City Commissioner for Seat 3 on the Hallandale Beach City Commission in Florida, a nonpartisan office to which she was first elected in November 2016 and most recently re-elected to a four-year term in November 2024. Before entering elected office, she worked as an EMT-Paramedic, dedicating her early career to emergency medical services, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Florida International University. She originally campaigned on restoring ethics to city hall, later co-sponsoring the landmark 2020 Condominium and HOA Transparency Act to combat community association fraud. Her tenure has also drawn national media attention, notably resulting in a 2019 commission reprimand vote over controversial social media remarks targeting a U.S. Congresswoman, after which she changed her party affiliation to Republican. Lima-Taub remains heavily active in community outreach, including utilizing an Accessory Dwelling Unit ordinance to expand housing options, and collaborating with her sister to provide food and veterinary care to pets owned by financially disadvantaged residents. In her current term, she continues to focus on municipal transparency, constituent services, and animal rights advocacy.
