Brandon Smith

Brandon Smith serves as City Commissioner for Seat 2 of the City of West Park, Florida, a nonpartisan municipal office to which he was first elected in 2018. Born and raised in Carver Ranches, West Park's largest subdivision, Smith has deep roots in the community, attending Watkins Elementary and graduating from Hallandale High School in 2003. Outside of elected office, he has built a career in public service as a law enforcement officer with Miami-Dade County since 2009, and serves as a licensed local minister. On the City Commission, Smith has been a vocal advocate for fiscal responsibility, notably opposing proposed mid-year commission salary increases and prioritizing road projects, affordable housing, and youth initiatives over constructing a new municipal complex. His legislative record includes reducing the city's annual millage rate, establishing a funded Youth Council Program, and collaborating with Broward College on local advancement programs.
