Buzzy Sklar

Buzzy Sklar is the Councilman representing District 3 on the Bal Harbour Village Council, a nonpartisan local government body in Bal Harbour, Florida. He first attained office in September 2018 after the incumbent opponent withdrew from the race, and he was subsequently automatically re-elected to a second term after running completely unopposed during the August 2022 municipal qualifying cycle. Prior to his council role, Sklar built a prominent career as a South Florida hospitality and business executive, serving as CEO of companies including Sliderz and Tropical Distillers, and currently operates within the premium beverage sector with Kintsugi Sake USA. He attended the University of Florida for his higher education. Sklar is an active figure in local political circles; although his municipal office is nonpartisan, he is a registered Republican and publicly endorsed state Representative Fabián Basabe for re-election in the House District 106 race. Heading into the November 3, 2026 general election, Sklar has formally filed his candidate intent registry to run for re-election to secure a consecutive four-year term for his District 3 seat.
