Fabiola Stuyvesant

Fabiola Stuyvesant serves as the Commissioner for Seat 3 on the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission, a nonpartisan municipal office to which she was first elected in 2021 and successfully re-elected to a four-year term in November 2024. Born in Venezuela, she graduated first in her class from Universidad Santa María, earning a degree in Economics, and previously worked in the international petroleum industry while serving as an associate professor of Public Finance and Microeconomics. She has also built a prominent career in public policy, notably serving as the Grassroots Engagement Director for Americans for Prosperity. Prior to her time on the commission, she served on the city's Historic Preservation Board from 2017 to 2019. Her extensive national and state committee footprint includes serving as Vice Chair of the National League of Cities' Council on Youth, Education, and Families, as well as contributing to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials and the Florida League of Cities Federal Action Strike Team, where she was named a 2023 Home Rule Hero. On the commission, her priorities center on fiscal responsibility, pedestrian safety, and strengthening condo owner protections, with her current term running through November 2028.
