Jenifer N. Bailey

Jenifer N. Bailey serves as the Vice Mayor and Council Seat #2 representative for the City of Homestead, Florida, a nonpartisan municipal office. She first entered local governance as the Councilwoman for Seat #2 representing the Southwest area in 2017, and later won the citywide vice mayoral election on November 4, 2025, by securing 55.4% of the vote against challenger Thomas Davis. Sworn in on November 12, 2025, she holds a dual mandate serving as Vice Mayor through 2027 and as Councilwoman through November 2029. Outside of her public service, she is an alumnus of Florida International University and operates the Smart Start of Homestead Preschool as its owner and director. Bailey is a prominent advocate for educational excellence and community empowerment, recognized for presenting student academic commendations and serving as the Secretary on the board of the Together for Children youth-violence prevention coalition. Additionally, she has served as Recruitment Chair for the Boy Scouts of America. In office, Vice Mayor Bailey remains heavily engaged in cultural programming, notably spearheading the expansion of the city's "Artist in the Spotlight" exhibitions at the Historic Seminole Theatre.

The Vice Mayor of the City of Homestead is an elected position within the city's municipal government, serving as second-in-command to the Mayor on the City Council. The Vice Mayor presides over Council meetings in the Mayor's absence, represents the city in official capacities, and carries out the legislative and constituent-service responsibilities of a full Council member.
