Joshua Dieguez

Joshua Dieguez is a lifelong resident of Miami Lakes, Florida. He earned a double major in Political Science and History from Florida International University (FIU) and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law. He practices as an attorney in the South Florida area. Dieguez was first elected to the Miami Lakes Town Council in 2018, where he served until winning the mayoral runoff election in November 2024. He has been recognized for his focus on fiscal responsibility, public safety, and infrastructure improvements within the town.

The Mayor of Miami Lakes serves as the chief executive and presiding officer of the Town Council, setting the agenda, representing the town in intergovernmental affairs, and providing policy leadership. The mayor votes on all matters before the council and oversees the administration of town services, including public safety, infrastructure, and budget management. Miami Lakes operates under a council-manager form of government, where the mayor works alongside a professional town manager.
