Kassandra Timothe

Kassandra Timothe was born and raised in North Miami, Florida, to a family of Haitian descent. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Florida and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Florida International University. Before entering elected office, she served as the Public Information Officer for the City of North Miami. On June 1, 2021, she was elected to the North Miami City Council representing District 2, making history as the first Black person, first woman of Haitian descent, and youngest individual ever elected to that seat. She was appointed Vice Mayor by the City Council on January 28, 2025.

The Vice Mayor of North Miami serves as a member of the City Council and presides over council meetings in the Mayor's absence. The City Council is the legislative body of North Miami, responsible for passing ordinances, approving the city budget, setting policy direction, and overseeing municipal operations. As the District 2 representative, she advocates for the interests and needs of residents within her district.
