Lamar P. Fisher is a Democratic Broward County Commissioner representing District 4β€”covering coastal northeast communities including Pompano Beach, Lighthouse Point, and parts of Fort Lauderdaleβ€”and has been serving on the commission since November 2018. A prominent leader in local governance, his colleagues selected him to serve a full term as the Broward County Mayor from November 2022 to November 2023. He is a fourth-generation resident of the area whose family roots trace back to his great-grandfather signing Pompano Beach’s articles of incorporation in 1908. Before joining county politics, Fisher spent 16 years in city leadership, first on the Pompano Beach Planning and Zoning Board, then as a District 3 City Commissioner starting in 2002, and finally as the city's Mayor-at-Large from March 2007 until November 2018. He holds an Associate of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Palm Beach State College (formerly Palm Beach Junior College) and is a graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI). Outside of city hall, he has spent over 35 years directing daily activities as the President and CEO of Fisher Auction Company, a multi-generational national real estate and brokerage firm. He is also highly regarded for his humanitarian work, notably serving as a past Florida District Governor for Kiwanis International and founding "K-Kids," a global elementary school community service organization.
