Lynn Su

Lynn Su (full name Lynn Sutjapojnukul) serves as Commissioner for Group 7 on the North Miami Beach City Commission, a nonpartisan seat she attained through election. Before entering elected office, Lynn built a career in finance, sales, and marketing, and was active in community leadership roles across multiple boards and committees in South Florida. She earned a Bachelor's degree from UCLA in 1996, becoming the first in her family to graduate from a university. She championed Ordinance 2023-06, which adopted Florida Constitutional Amendment 11 to provide an additional homestead exemption aimed at lowering property taxes for long-term residents. She was also appointed to the National League of Cities Federal Advisory Committee on Energy and Environment and received a City of Hallandale Proclamation for her advocacy against hate crimes across Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Su is a first-generation American born in Washington, D.C. to immigrant parents from Thailand, and her public service priorities reflect her background in community advocacy, economic development, and environmental policy.

The City of North Miami Beach Commissioner represents a geographic group district on the City Commission, the legislative branch of North Miami Beach's municipal government. Commissioners are responsible for setting city policy, adopting the municipal budget, enacting local ordinances, and providing oversight of city administration and services.
