Advocate for Public Schools and Education Quality in District 4
Education
◐ Partial
"It is for the sake of her two young children that she promises to continue to advocate for the public school system."
News Source Biscayne Times · biscaynetimes.com · 2022
No documented county-level legislation specifically advancing public school quality was sponsored by Steinberg during her commission tenure. Education policy is primarily a Miami-Dade County Public Schools (school board) function, structurally limiting a county commissioner's direct legislative role. No documented county budget amendments, resolutions of support, or formal advocacy initiatives for public schools attributed to Steinberg were found in county commission records. While the jurisdictional constraint is real, no evidence of indirect advocacy (public statements, partnership with school board, budget support) was identified either.

Bring Back Mondays with Micky Community Engagement Forums
Government Reform
✓ Kept
" I'm going to kick-start Mondays with Micky again — we're going to take different topics and hear from residents themselves and a lot of that will help shape the legislation we put forward."
News Source Florida Politics · floridapolitics.com · 2023
Documented as an active initiative — 'Mondays with Micky' community forums were held regularly at locations including FIU Biscayne Bay Campus and other District 4 venues. Multiple sessions documented across her tenure covering topics such as resilience, transportation, and community development. The forums were designed to gather resident input to shape legislative priorities, consistent with the original commitment.

Strengthen Ethics Ordinances and Government Accountability
Government Reform
○ Pending
"I am committed to strengthening ethics ordinances and continuing that work at the county level."
Campaign micky.vote · Campaign Website · 2022
Steinberg serves on the Miami-Dade Government Efficiency and Transparency Ad Hoc Committee, a role directly aligned with her ethics commitment. However, no standalone county-level ethics ordinance specifically authored or sponsored by Steinberg has been identified in county commission records during her tenure (2022–2025). Her documented ethics record is stronger at the Miami Beach City Commission level, where she previously served. Further monitoring is warranted to determine whether committee work produces specific legislative outcomes at the county level.

Advance Septic to Sewer Conversion in District 4
Infrastructure
◐ Partial
"I want to continue with septic-to-sewer strategies — we must do the right thing for our homes and the environment."
News Source Florida Politics · floridapolitics.com · 2023 · Biscayne Times · biscaynetimes.com · 2022
Co-sponsored a 2024 ordinance updating Miami-Dade County environmental and zoning regulations including drainage and stormwater standards, which is tangentially related to septic-to-sewer transition goals. The ordinance was passed by the Board of County Commissioners and became effective March 2025. However, septic-to-sewer conversion typically requires dedicated funding programs, utility infrastructure buildout, and connection mandates — no specific septic-to-sewer conversion program, funding allocation, or connection mandate sponsored by Steinberg was identified in county records. Her prior Miami Beach record on this issue is documented but predates her county tenure.

Protect Biscayne Bay and Ensure Clean Water Quality in District 4
Environment
◐ Partial
"I want to aggressively invest in focusing on Biscayne Bay to ensure our water quality remains safe and clean."
News Source Florida Politics · floridapolitics.com · 2023
Steinberg serves as a member of the Biscayne Bay Commission and the Biscayne Bay Watershed Management Advisory Board — direct leadership roles relevant to this commitment. She co-sponsored a 2024 ordinance revising environmental and zoning regulations including stormwater and drainage standards, which has implications for Biscayne Bay water quality. The ordinance became effective March 2025. However, no Biscayne Bay-specific water quality legislation solely authored by Steinberg has been identified, and measurable water quality improvement outcomes in Biscayne Bay during her tenure have not been documented. Her consistent advocacy and leadership positions support a pattern of engagement on this issue.
