Monica Colucci

Monica Colucci is an educator with over 26 years of experience. She won the District 8 School Board seat in August 2022 defeating longtime incumbent Marta Pérez. She has been elected Vice Chair of the Miami-Dade County School Board three consecutive times, most recently in November 2025. District 8 covers south Miami-Dade County including Homestead, Florida City, Cutler Bay, and surrounding communities — the most geographically expansive district on the board covering both urban and rural areas of southern Miami-Dade.

Elected School Board Member and current Vice Chair of the Miami-Dade County School Board representing District 8. As Vice Chair she assumes the Chair's responsibilities when needed and serves as a key leadership voice on the board. Responsible for setting district-wide education policy, approving the annual budget, and representing the interests of students, parents, and educators across south Miami-Dade communities including Homestead and Cutler Bay.
