Nan H. Rich

Nan Rich is a longtime public servant currently serving as the Broward County Commissioner for District 1, representing communities across northwest Broward County. She brings decades of experience in public policy, with a career focused on healthcare access, education, and services for vulnerable populations.

Before joining the Broward County Commission, Rich served in the Florida Legislature as a State Representative (2004–2012) and State Senator (2012–2016). During her time in Tallahassee, she was known for her work on healthcare policy, particularly expanding access to care, supporting seniors, and advocating for individuals with disabilities. She also served as Senate Democratic Leader, where she focused on bipartisan collaboration and government accountability.

Commissioner Rich’s platform emphasizes improving quality of life at the local level, including affordable housing, environmental sustainability, economic development, and responsive public services. She has also been a consistent advocate for ethics reform and transparency in government.

In addition to her elected roles, Rich has been involved in numerous community and nonprofit initiatives, reinforcing her long-standing commitment to public service in South Florida.
