Rachel S. Friedland

Rachel S. Friedland, Esq. serves as Commissioner for Seat 5 on the Aventura City Commission, representing the City of Aventura, Florida. She first attained office in a nonpartisan November 2020 general election, unseating a long-standing incumbent by raising $61,357 during her inaugural campaign. She was subsequently re-elected to a second consecutive four-year term in November 2024, running unopposed during that cycle. Professionally, she is a practicing Family Law attorney who operates her own local firm, Rachel W. Friedland, P.A. Friedland earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Miami and obtained her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad College of Law. Her civic background includes serving on the Governing Board of the Aventura Charter School system and founding the community nonprofits Aventura Heroes and Aventura Cares to feed families and expand youth education. Having also served in the capacity of Vice Mayor during her tenure, Commissioner Friedland will continue serving her current term on the seven-member body continuously through November 2028.
