Rafael Pineyro

Rafael Pineyro serves as a Council Member for Seat 1 on the Doral City Council, a nonpartisan municipal office to which he was first elected in December 2022 and re-elected to a full four-year term on November 5, 2024, by securing 60.37% of the vote against challenger Ivette Gonzalez Petkovich. A dedicated public servant who has also served as Vice Mayor during his tenure, Pineyro possesses deep experience in municipal administration, having previously served as Chief of Staff for the City of Doral and spending nearly five years managing community programming for the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he immigrated to Miami at age 15, an experience that directly shaped his commitment to community advocacy and accessible government. Pineyro's educational background includes a 'Take Stock in Children' scholarship at Miami Coral Park Senior High School, an Associate of Arts from Miami Dade College, a Bachelor of Public Administration from Florida International University, and a Master’s degree in Psychology from Lipscomb University. Professionally, he operates in the private sector as a chief executive and management consultant, while dedicating his legislative energy to expanding local programming, notably championing the city's annual Autism Acceptance and inclusion events. On the city council, he remains a close ally of Mayor Christi Fraga, collaborating on strategic priorities running through November 2028 that emphasize long-term fiscal transparency, enhanced public safety, and smart infrastructure investments designed to preserve the quality of life for Doral families.
