Steven D. Losner

Steven D. Losner serves as Mayor of the City of Homestead, Florida, a nonpartisan municipal office to which he was first elected in 2019. After serving two initial two-year terms, he was re-elected to a newly structured four-year term in November 2023, capturing 53.2% of the vote. A fourth-generation resident whose deep roots are commemorated downtown at Losner Park, he served on the Homestead City Council from 2001 to 2007 prior to his mayoral career. Alongside his public service, he has maintained a long-standing practice as a trial attorney, having earned his Juris Doctor from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law in 1987. During his tenure as Mayor, he has guided municipal governance through major infrastructure projects, including the opening of the Homestead Cybrarium and navigating regional crisis response plans. Sworn into his current term on November 13, 2023, Mayor Losner's executive administration continues to focus on smart-growth zoning parameters and downtown commercial restoration through November 2027.
