"I've been calling for something like this for a long time β€” we must confront narco-terrorism head-on, stand with the Venezuelan people, and never surrender to the terrorist regimes and cartels killing our children."
Gov. Record LiveNOW from FOX Β· November 2025 Β· https://www.livenowfox.com/news/congressman-gimenez-maduro-is-threat-safety-security-us
Gimenez has sustained a years-long legislative campaign to pressure the Maduro regime. In December 2025, he took to the House floor to oppose H. Con. Res. 61 and 64, arguing those resolutions would undermine Trump's maximum-pressure strategy against Venezuelan narco-terrorism. On January 3, 2026, U.S. forces conducted Operation Absolute Resolve, capturing Maduro in Caracas β€” an outcome Gimenez had explicitly and repeatedly called for. He immediately issued a statement calling it 'this hemisphere's equivalent of the Fall of the Berlin Wall,' participated in a January 5, 2026 press conference in Doral with Senators Scott and Moody praising the capture, and introduced a congressional resolution formally commending President Trump. In February 2026, as Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, he held a hearing on the Coast Guard's role in maritime narco-interdiction and Venezuelan oil sanctions, further cementing his legislative engagement on the issue.

"Finally somebody is taking some bold action."

In November 2024, Gimenez publicly endorsed President-elect Trump's plan to impose 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada and an additional 10% on Chinese goods, calling it 'bold action' in a video statement from Florida's 28th Congressional District. He specifically praised the Mexico tariff as necessary because 'Mexico has been aiding the drug cartels and helping our enemies.' Trump followed through: 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada and additional China tariffs were signed into effect beginning February 2025, and remained in place through 2026. Gimenez's official House press release on the tariff announcement was published November 26, 2024, consistent with his broader alignment with Trump's trade and border security agenda.

Gov. Record CBS Miami Β· November 2020 Β· https://www.cbsnews.com/miami/news/carlos-gimenez-flips-congressional-district-26-seat/
Gimenez has consistently pursued hardline anti-communist legislative action throughout his congressional tenure. In April 2025, he formally requested the Trump administration end all remittances and travel to Cuba. On January 29, 2026, he held a press conference alongside Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart calling for an immediate end to oil shipments, U.S. flights, and remittances to Cuba, and sent a letter to Mexican President Sheinbaum urging a halt to Mexico's oil deliveries to Havana. In February 2026, acting as Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, he sent letters to major airline CEOs urging them to cancel all commercial flights to Cuba, and co-signed a letter with Reps. Diaz-Balart and Salazar demanding a full review of U.S. licenses that benefit the Cuban regime. On the Venezuela front, he opposed House resolutions he viewed as undermining U.S. pressure on Maduro in December 2025, cheered Maduro's capture in January 2026 as 'the hemisphere's Berlin Wall moment,' and introduced a resolution commending Trump for Operation Absolute Resolve.
