Secured a provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill making spaceport facility bonds tax-exempt — treating Florida's spaceports the same as airports and seaports and directly benefiting Kennedy Space Center. The Secure U.S. Leadership in Space Act was her legislation included in the bill. Also passed legislation supporting Kennedy Space Center public-private aerospace partnerships which was signed by the president during her first year in office. She noted on her one-year anniversary that this was among her proudest accomplishments.

The law permanently classifies all fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I controlled substances and imposes mandatory minimum prison sentences for trafficking. Moody championed the bill at events across Florida including Palm Beach County and Miami with Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz. As Florida AG, Moody chaired the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking for six years — work that predates her Senate tenure. As Senator, she secured one provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill requiring the Office of Refugee Resettlement to coordinate with states on placement of unaccompanied migrant children, addressing gaps that resulted in tens of thousands of children lost in the system under prior administration. Also earned a Master of Laws in International Law from Stetson University College of Law. Began career at Holland and Knight law firm. Later became a federal prosecutor. In 2006 became the youngest judge in Florida when elected to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court in Hillsborough County at age 31. Served as Florida's 38th Attorney General from 2019 to 2025. Appointed to the U.S. Senate by Governor Ron DeSantis on January 16 2025 to fill the vacancy created by Marco Rubio's resignation to become Secretary of State. Sworn in January 21 2025 — becoming only the second woman to represent Florida in the U.S. Senate. Running in the special Republican primary on August 18 2026.
U.S. Senators serve six-year terms and represent all residents of their state. Senator Moody was appointed — not elected — to fill the vacancy created by Marco Rubio's resignation.
