Luisa Santos

Luisa Santos won the District 9 School Board seat in November 2020 defeating longtime incumbent Dennis Moss. She was re-elected in August 2024 defeating Kimberly Beltran outright in the primary with no general election needed. District 9 covers southeast Miami-Dade County including Cutler Bay, Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest, and surrounding communities. Prior to her election to the School Board she was deeply involved in educational and community advocacy in south Miami-Dade County.

Elected School Board Member representing District 9 of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Responsible for setting district-wide education policy, approving the annual budget, and representing the interests of students, parents, and educators across the southeast Miami-Dade communities. Serves on board committees overseeing key aspects of district operations and student achievement.
