Danny Espino

Danny Espino is a first-generation Miami native born to Cuban parents, lifelong Miami Springs resident, and attorney. He was appointed to the District 5 School Board seat in November 2022 by Governor Ron DeSantis following the resignation of Christi Fraga who left to successfully run for Mayor of Doral. He was re-elected unopposed in August 2024 with no challengers qualifying against him. He previously served as a Miami Springs City Councilman beginning at age 19 and has worked as City Attorney for multiple municipalities including Doral, Miami Springs, and the Town of Medley. District 5 covers a northwestern portion of Miami-Dade County overseeing approximately 50 schools.

Elected School Board Member representing District 5 of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Responsible for setting district-wide education policy, approving the annual budget, and representing the interests of students, parents, and educators across the western Miami-Dade communities.
